The UGB-2M4 is our universal mini directional drilling rig, designed with the utility contractor in mind. It has been engineered to operate as a pit launch machine and as surface launch HDD machine, and provide  2.2 ton of push and 3.1 pull force.

The UGB-2M4 can install Ø250 mm (10″) steel or PVC pipes in a normal soil conditions, fit in an excavated pit just over 1500 mm, and can install the drainage pipe with a slope.

Thereby machine can work from the ground surface like conventional HDD drilling and from the pit like thrust boring machine, making it an even greater tool for pipe and cable laying and utility contractors.

How to work from the surface of the earth:

The machine is placed on the surface of the earth and fixed by anchors, the carriage of the machine is installed at the desired angle (or exactly in the horizontal plane), the drill rods enter to the ground at an needed angle, then the laying path changes to a horizontal plane, the drilling path can be changed, for example, so that the tip goes into the well or into the basement of the room or even to the surface of the earth.

How to work from the pit or basement:

The machine is located in a pit and fixed by anchors, the carriage of the machine is installed in the horizontal plane (or in desired angle), drill rods enter the soil in a horizontal plane, then the drilling path can be changed, for example, so that the tip goes into the well or into the basement of the room or even to the surface of the earth.

Path control is the same as in conventional HDD drilling rig, with the help of underground location systems such as ERA or SNS (Russian made) or Mark, DigiTrack, Subsite and others.

How to drill vertical wells:

The UGB-2M4 machine is placed on the surface of the earth and fixed by anchors, the carriage of the machine is fixed vertically, the well can be drilled to a depth of up to 100 meters.

The UGB-2M4 is perfect choice for laying communications under roads and objects, for connecting  houses to gas pipelines, water, sewers, for laying electric and optic cables.
