The directional Thrust Boring machine UPKT-30B is a hydraulically driven tool for replacement or laying steel and PVC pipe. This machine can provide steerable thrust boring up to 100 meters, designed to install pipes and cables under driveways, walkways  and roads from a pit, sewer well or building basement. Using a special attachment, you can also perform a boring from the surface of the earth. 

The hydraulic reducer allows you to unscrew and tighten the drill rods quickly and without manual labor, it also greatly facilitates steerable boring, due to the hydraulic reducer, the work time is reduced.

Better to use the UPKT-30B in normal soil conditions, including winter ground.

Work from the surface of the earth:
The machine is placed on the surface of the earth, the drill rods enter the ground at an angle, then the laying path changes to a horizontal plane, the drilling path can be changed, for example, so that the tip goes into the well or into the basement of the room or even to the surface of the earth.

Work from the pit or basement:
The machine is located in a pit or in the basement of the room, drill rods enter the soil in a horizontal plane, then the drilling path can be changed, for example, so that the tip goes into the well or into the basement of the room or even to the surface of the earth. Trajectory control is the same as in HDD installations, but here a special hydraulic reducer is provided for turning the rod string, the rod string is rotated by moving the valve control lever, which is much more convenient than manually turning with a pipe wrench.

The control of steerable thrust boring is provided by underground location systems such as Mark lll, DigiTrack, Subsite, ERA or SNS (Russian made) and others.
